Just reecieved an e-mail from the dealer who supplied my Bongo 4 months ago. Edited, but key sentance reads "The terms of the warranty cover engine, gearbox and rear axle not cooling system or components."

Am I being stupid, but isn't the cooling system a key compenent of the engine.

a lot of these warranties are not worth the paper they are written on,i find a lot of them cover only the head gasket and not the head itself, with these vehicles and the toyota estimas this can be the main problem, heads crack, then people find out the warranty doesen't cover the head itself.

Could it be just the perishable rubber bits of the system, same as tyres, brake pads etc??

Here in is the second problem, despite consistant and repeated questioning as to what work has been done the best response so far has been "After a diagnosis had been made,it was found to be a cooling system problem and the necassary parts were replaced. The system and radiator were flushed through and the problem has now been rectified."

I know that it was more than perishables.

What was found to be a cooling system problem??
- Don't know, have been asking but no real detail forthcoming. My garage advised blocked coolant hoses, dealer advised leaks in coolant system.

What went wrong to make you take the vehicle back??
- Look at the posts under my name, but it started with: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... eb0#135977
- Based on excellent advise from these forums I decided to change the coolant. Looked at factsheet, bit too complex for me. Brought to garage - they would not let me drive home...

the small print in my warranty states "not covered for any damage caused by overheating"
