terrible handling ( no anti-roll bar ) ?

hi all,

have been searching drop-link/roll bar topics and was wondering
how different the handling would be with front anti-roll bar removed.
or even both!
the answer is probably obvious but has anyone tried it?
i know landrover defenders are slightly compromised off-road
because of anti-roll bars; doesn't allow full suspension articulation.
how bad would it be in a bongo, on-road, without them.
mines 4wd with chunky tyres ( let's not get into tyre debates)
and, as i recently found out has lsd front and rear.
i've been "testing" it in mud and i'm impressed so far.

looking forward to any advice/comments

cheers, james

Dunno about the bongo, but in my truck driving days,i had a vehicle with only a rear anti roll bar, then upgraded to an identical vehicle, with front and rear anti roll bars...they were completely different machines when loaded!...I dread to think how one would perform with none at all

yeah, that's pretty much what i was thinking.
not really a serious thought but the drop-links need sorting
and i was wondering about different options.
it might be ok if i only went off-road in a proper way but then
a bongo wouldn't be the best choice for that.

Nowhere near enough ground clearance on a bongo for any real off-roading james... Its a very capable machine on the sticky stuff, just so long as its not to bumpy or undulating

Talking of modifications, I had this great idea of taking my wheels off and driving on the wheel hubs. The way I see it you'd save a fortune on tyre rubber plus the sharp edges on the hubs would give really good grip when cornering as they'd bite into the tarmac. When MOT time comes, simply slip on the old wheels before entering the MOT station. Brilliant or wot

Don't mind me skater, I'm just feeling really silly tonight - I think its reading Dave up North's posts - its having a bad influence on me 8)
