i was curious what was under the blanks of the bank of switches kind of by your left knee the only one in use is the top middle one which is heated rear screen

just empty space
the switches can be removed and replaced with working ones if you have need

I removed 3 to the right of the steering wheel and popped in a little digital voltmeter instead that looks the business - will post a piccie in the fullness

just looked at my post and realised i didnt finish it !!! basically there are socket for switches under the bottom left and bottom right blanks, just wondered what these might be

Ah yes, I've got one of those. I can only thnk it is the wiring loom in place for optional extras so that they can be plonked in with no fuss should they be wanted

They're for those of us who have the non-delux version with electric blinds

Dbo and myself was on a hunt in his freda looking for the plugs behind the rear panels so that leccy blinds could be retro-fitted to his... after quite a while of searching (fruitlessly) i decided to have a peek behind the blanks referred to above for a hint to the colour of the cables we were searching for...suprisingly, the plugs are there up front for the blinds...but nowhere to be seen at the rear

I suppose they are tied up somewhere further up the loom,and the mazda technicians never bothered to route the cables,as they knew they wouldn't be utilised (till now)

..and just to irritate DBO even more, a set of 4 electric blinds with motors, switches etc. has just gone on sale on ebay

If they are from who i think they are from,i had first refusal anyway. (if you know what i mean) i think.
