hi all..im having a day off work to do some work on thw bongo...
how do i know if i have dual aircon..?.i have a small button on the dash for the front..(i am going to try and gat it recharged today..).and i know the amounts of refrigerant for dual and single aircon...but not the oil amounts..???if anybody knows...is there a seperate switch for rear aircon,,?? or does it just blow through the overhead vents....i just dont know how to tell whether i have dual or single....and need to be armed with information before i go to kwik fit or they will most likely just fob me off...like they do...!

another thing i noticed when i fit my cruise control the other day.with the kind help of simons fact sheet i might add...i noticed a water pipe coming from the exhaust side of the engine that had been blanked off with a screw and hose clip...what did this go to..?..if anybody knows....

thanks in advance for any information....cliffy

Hi Cliffy, it sounds lto me like you may have a side conversion fitted if you have not been able to locate the rear controls.

If you have the digital display at the front, there is a button marked "Rear". When this is pressed, a green light should come on & the the panel in the rear will be active. The rear control panel is situated (in non-convered vans) in the side panel behind the drivers seat. The air comes out of the overhead vents as well as a rectangular vent under the rear control panel.

Many side conversions involve re-locating the rear control panel to somewhere else, often at floor level, or near the rear cupboard. Wellhouse Leisure remove the rear heater matrix & aircon unit to use the space for a water tank.

An interesting point I found was that once I had set the fan speed, temp etc on the rear control panel, you can unplug it and it will retain the settings for when it is next switched on from the front switch

Can't help with air con but the pipe sounds like the pipe you use for getting air locks out when re-filling cooling system :D

interesting to know what that pipe is for...thanks...
i have the rear heater controls which work fine when i switch the button on the dash...but there is no seperate aircon control on this rear panel...so idont know if i have rear air con unless the front button switches both on and then u send it to the back with the switch on the dash...
