In the process of changing the KPH dial for an MPH.
I've got as far as removing the black cap on the needle and removed counterweights. Would really appreciate advice on how to proceed.
How do I remove speedo needle and what do I need to do to complete the job?
Cheers,
Steve

The needle is supposed to pull, off but can be very tight - lots of people cut the new speedo face and thread it round the needle.

Only way I could get ours off was to get 2 teaspoons
put one each side with the tip under the boss of the
needle and the bottom of the spoon bit on the two
screws that hold the face on and gently use them
like two crow bars, hope that makes sense.

If you do take the needle off to fit make sure that when you refit it you plug the speedo unit back in and switch the ignition on first, then fit the needle. Otherwise you will get it all back together, switch the ignition on and immediately it will go up to about 35mph

Many thanks for the info. I resorted to judicious use of scissors rather than forcing the needle off, looks OK.
After losing the counterweights a couple of times I used a wee drop of superglue to keep them in the cap, worked a treat!
Thanks again,
Steve
