Inlet Manifold Hose

I had a bit of fright yesterday traveling back from my Mum and Dads (250 miles). I was doing about 60 mph on the M6 when I heard a slight pop and change in engine note (not unlike the noise you get when you get a change in road surface). I then noticed a complete lose of top end power (this is where I started to panic what could have gone wrong). I pulled off at the next service station (Keele) and tipped back both the seats. On reving the engine I could hear air and quickly located the problem to the big hose from the intercooler (I think) which had come adrift from the inlet manifold, easy fix if I had any tools but I didn't so I had to call out the AA. 2 minute fix (after a 1 hour wait) and I was on my way much releaved.

Has anyone else had this hose pop off before?

Thanks for the link, same area only mine was the big pipe. I suspect it was not properly tightened when I had the the cam belt changed.

Aha!...the cheap easy fixes are the best  Pity about the inconvenience though  ...Still, all's well that ends well
