There may be a really simple answer but..... I have no ignition ( wont start its dead), interior light id dead so is radio but the headlights work! I imported this bongo two weeks ago so am a bongo virgin and cant gat a workshop manual for another week.

Have just replaced the water pump and the timing belt so have had battery disconnected and have taken out the engine fan. No other electrics tampered with. 100 amp main fuse is OK turn the key and absolutely nothing happens.

Bongo is 1995 with a cube ( cube electrics all work fine ) question is do bongos have an immobiliser ? I only have one key no for an alarm have put it in park, neutral and even reverse!

It must be something really basic.

BIG HELP required.

There are two lots of fuses. One down to the right below the steering wheel, as well as the ones under the bonnet. have you checked both sets?

Best of luck!!

As far as I am aware Bongos don't come fitted with imobilisers as I had an alarm and imobiliser fitted to my Bongo as soon as I got it. First I would check the fuses for the engine and ignition before trying the real experts for more info.

There are three banks of fuses and relays in a Bongo. One in the drivers cab just below right of the steering wheel (No.9 the second down on the left at 15amps is an engine fuse) and two under the bonnet. The smaller one of these is behind the starter battery and the larger one is over the the air duct behind the radiator. In the larger box shows (No.9 the second from the bottom on the left 10amps is an engine fuse) and (No.13 the large 60amp fuse on the left of the box is the ignition fuse.

Bongo fury member you can download this fuse chart from the members section.

Just shows you how much I know!! I've not had the need to check fuses yet, so have'nt taken much notice  ( thats my excuse, and I'm sticking with it  )

I take it that the radio should still work even if an after market immobiliser was fitted?

Ok 100 amp fuse has blown.....how .....well like a plonker I took out the second battery in the front of the car to charge it (cold weather start battery). While working on the water pump I disconnected the primary battery and when I reconnected the primary I think I must have created a dead short to earth from the floating terminal from the second battery.

Thanks for the assistance

Just never blow a seal or you'll get picked up by the authorities
