a friend of mine went to look at a bongo aft, 4wd, 1997,2.5 diesel, the dealer who was selling it said it was his own bongo, my friend asked if the cam belt had been done to which the dealer replied ITS GOT A CAM CHAIN,
i am still learning about bongos & when he phoned me to ask about this subject i wasnt sure if they had changed from a belt to a chain on later models ( mines a 96 n reg )
also it is registered as an mpv ( mine is registered as a motor caravan ) although it hasn't been converted, will this make any difference to insuring the vehicle, any advice would be greatly appreciated & would be passed back to my mate to finalise the deal on the bongo, many thanks, LEE

It has a cam BELT. Shouldn't make any differance to insurance which type of vehicle it is regiestered as. Life sure don't seem to bother.

If the dealer thinks it`s got a camchain and not a belt he certainly hasn`t changed it. ...... Some dealer.

i have told him to be wary of this dealer & to check everything , if hes not sure to walk away & start looking elsewhere.
