Fuel Tank Capacity?

Greetings.
My fuel guage is a bit erratic. Filling up just above the empty mark gives me around 35/40 litres. This can't be right - surely the tank holds 65 or so. . .
I've got the original Japenese owners manual but my translation skills can't cope.
Any ideas what the tank on actually holds??

Owners Handbook says 65litres so you are right about that. Remember the fuel gauge does not move when you turn off the ignition but always shows the amount of fuel that you have in the tank. Looks like you have a bad connection on the fuel sender.

Many thanks.
Will stick to the old tripmeter method for now.
How many km do you guys get from a tankfull on average???

Mine is the same first half tank drops very fast and hits about a quarter full when there are still 35-40 litres left.
I think it is because the Bongo tank is relatively deep and the float arm moves more in the first half of its sweep than in the second half.
My Fiat is the exact opposite, it has a very flat shallow tank ( a blow moulded one that fits the shape of the underside of the floorpan). Down to half full is very slow, but half full to empty is much faster.
At least it has a warning light......................

Many thanks Max.
A little over my head I'm afraid but will print it out for my next visit to the Bongo Doc next week. He knows his onions - will be of great help.
