Carpet lifting

Could anyone explain to a lazy DIY virgin how to lift the carpet to get access to the hatch for the fuel sender unit? Have had a small chat before but need idiot's guide.

Simple really, slide the rear seats as far back as they will go, middle ones as far forward and you have a fair working area. Now comes brute force, just grab the carpet and pull it like hell, it will come I know cause I have done it, just takes some pulling, goes back easy, when I did mine I drilled another hole, bared the metal and made another earth as a back up, no problem since. David, sorry to be so newbie but where are you starting to pull the carpet from? is it the sides?

Yeah against the seat runner on the offside, this will expose the plate.
