Air con problem

I have the manual type heater and the fan only works on 1 or 4, this is also the same in the back. When I use the air con the button only lights up on the 1 fan setting, if I to to 2, 3, or 4 it switches off. There is no aircon button in the back.
Any Thoughts?

I had the same problem and have been told its the fan speed resistor. Switch the one in the back for the one in the front ( under bonnet ) and you may get the front lot working again. Other than that, theres a way of "a possible fixing" in the members area.

I think Foz.Foz is right. Aircon only works in mine when fan in front is at setting 1 or higher. If you have got the 'blown resistor' problem it produces symptoms with the fan blower speeds a bit like you are describing. So I'd check that out and fix it first, then see what happens. If still an aircon problem then come back for more advice. But there's loads on here about the 'blown fan resistor' problem (and the underlying cause - water falling on the motor and seizing it) - use 'Search' to find it.
Apologies if you've done all this and the above is 'off target'
good luck

I dont think the resistors are expensive to buy, but with air con (not climate) its quite an easy fix with a soldering iron. When you prise the back of the resistor it will be obvious which tabs are not connected any more.

Thanks for all the replies I shall read the guide in the members area and have a go. I will let you know how I get on.
