Whilst checking why my rear window heater wasn't working, I checked the rear of the switch on the dash and found the cable disconnected from the switch. Problem solved. But also noticed several of the blank switches had cables connected.
Came across this thread on same subject:

but no answers. Anyone know what the blanks are for?

Hmm, yes, there is at least one connector behind a blank on my bongo also.. I can see marks on the actual copper on the connection,so it was plugged into something at some stage.
My bongo had bullbars fitted originally, i suspect the connector used to fit onto the bullbar lights.

Yes I have the same.
So as imported my bongo myself I used the live feed for my rear fog light, as the live is not permanent and only works with the ignition on.

I have some blank switches but I also have a very small round rocker switch on the dash on rhs of the steering wheel, it has a little light on it that comes on if you switch it - but I have no idea what it controls !! - any ideas folks (please dont tell me it is the ejector seat aaarrrgghh!!)

Try turning it on when you have your dipped headlamps on, then go round to the back of the van...

Sorry, but I usually need some visual clues when determining gender.
(tactile clues are even more fun!)
Need to change that username to bongo bitch do da van then!
