Bongo Fury

Hello everyone not usually on this techy bit so please excuse the intrusion
My problem is a pin hole in the other end of where the bleed pipe is attached to a 3 way manifold. (Behind the alternater ) It's not in the rubber pipe but in the steel pipe itself worst luck . Is their anyway I can seal it temporarily bearing in mind the intense heat produced. How is the manifold attached to the engine block? Is it something I can purchase and fit myself or is it a garage job

If dry (ie only leaking when the coolant is hot and under pressure) you could try cleaning off any rust then applying some resin/metal type sealant. You can get it in Halfords these days in the form of a stick sold as a blister pack.

I have the same problem at the end of May this year.

Fortunatley the hole was far enough away from the block that the mechanic who works at the dealer where I bought my Bongo from was able to (can't remember if he cut the end off the metal) push the hose on over the hole and secure it with a jubilee clip. He then pressure tested it for 2 hours - all ok, and I have had no further coolant leak since then.

We couldn't work out how to change the manifold if would have been necessary as the mechanic didn't think it was a screw fit.

The best bit was the repair was done free of charge

Couldn't get the chemical metal, but Leak fix has similar properties.
Leak - fix has a high enough melt point to warrant a quick fix and has sealed the pin prick hole in the pipe. Seems to be holding up under pressure so far. Unfortunately if it blows again there isn't enough room on the pipe to push the rubber pipe over the hole and seal with a jubille clip. I may have to seal the pipe and insert a 'Y' joint and piggyback a new bleed pipe off the pipe next to it.
