Bongo Fury

Looking at replacing my tyres soon. Current tyres are van tyres and have a C rating though the replacements I am looking at do not. The size and load rating are okay and within manufacturers spec. Will the absence of a C cause problems? The load carried will come nowhere near the GVW of the van on which it is based. I would be interested to hear your learned views.

Well I run a 96 P reg flat top and I use Nangkang 215.65.R15 all round they are 96 H rated at £37.00 each fully fitted and I have had no problems, I find they are very hard wearing. I have no doubt others will give further info soon. Happy motoring.

Sorry Dave, should have mentioned it is not a Bongo and they do not require C rated tyres.

Seems that the "C" rating is a minimum rating and is to due with resistance to overheating but only seems to crop up in American websites

So am I at liberty to disregard it and still be "legal"? The full spec of the current (non Bongo) tyres is 205 65 R16C 99H load/speed rating. Strikes me if the size is right and the load rating is too then I have met the important bits
