No sound on my tv

Got a grundig flat screen, gets decent picture with the small ariel we've got but can only get sound when the van's engine is running, as soon as you switch the engine off - silence! what's going on?

are we talking 240v volts with hook up ...12 volt from leisure battery ...do you have an inverter or straight 12volts from your main battery off the cigerette lighter.....
.... does sound like the tv's taking to big a draw on the system your using....

That sounds about right,when i'm watching a dvd through the monitors,i know when the leisure battery is running flat as the sound goes, but the picture remains.
All returns to normal when the L/B has charged again.
