AIR PIPE ??

Under the front drivers seat sits the air filter, if you follow this big pipe round towards the rear of the engine there is a small pipe coming out of it, this small pipe goes near the egr unit (which i no longer have) but not into it.This small pipe has a one way filter on it.
Now eventually to my questions, what is this pipe for ? what does it do ? what is it called ?(if it has a name) and can i get another from somewhere as ive slightly knackered mine.

have never came across it' could it simply be a drain hose... to let any moisture or fuel trapped in the airbox drain away...

I'm not sure what it is, but I broke mine too! I ran the van for 20k miles without it and didn't notice anything amiss. Apparently they break easily and cost about £36 to replace from Mazda. My egr was disabled, so my guess is that it has some sort of purpose related to the egr.
There's been discussion about this item before and no-one seemed to know what it is really!

its not the breather pipe that goes into the head is it? usually you have few, or at least one pipe going from just under the rocker cover to your intake. it doesnt really do anytyhing, when people modify their intake, they usually stick a real small airfilter onto the rocker breather pipe. i think thats what you are talking about. in that case dont bother fixing it, just block it up and she'll be right
