Bongo Fury

Done my second oil change, Not a problem changing in theory. My idea was to drop the old oil and replace filter last night (Friday) and allow overnight to drain fully, and just to refill today(Saturday), BUT, and it's a big BUT, just as I was undoing the sump plug...... The B****Y wind got up, and sprayed the oil all over the drive and me so a Word of advice..... don't change the oil, "in the open" when it's windy, oh and used oil on the lip tingles a bit so remove ASAP

Bad news about getting a facefull of crude!..That sounds even more annoying than the sump plug dropping into the pan for the old gloopy oil,and then not being able to find it hours later after its drained! (i do it every time )

I've bought one of them pumps (the 6000). I've got it for several reasons, the first being for my old 190E Merc. Last year I could not get the sump plug out and ended up cracking the sump which cost me £300 to get it welded up! Don't want anything like that happening to me again.
I got it for £35.90 from marinesuperstore after googling for it.

Bigdaddy, just done the sump plug into the old oil trick this week. An old magnet on a piece of wire hangs in the garage for such occasion. not much use if you use a steel drain pan though Shakey

i thought the wind always got up in Scotland? but I have also had the oil in the face and it's not at all nice.

Knowing my luck, i'd trip over the wire and end up face first in the oil!...

I have bad luck with cars,i remember removing a steering wheel for a friend of mine,after loosening the nut, i warned him how important it was to leave the loose nut on the thread,before you whack the wheel upwards...at which point i prompltly whacked the wheel upwards...straight into my face,breaking my nose! (i didn't practise what i preached...i removed the nut completely )

Yup, been there, done that, got a BSF theaded nose to prove it, It's not removing the blood off the dashboard I object to, it's your mates urine on the passenger seat. Why is misfortune always so damn funny to other people Shakey
