I'm sure the answer is here somewhere but i can't find it.

How do we stop the beep when the door is open and the key in the ignition?

The key is in the ignition so that the radio can be on - then as soon as I open the passenger door to get something out it beeps.

Rewire the radio to the leisure battery!

at side of steering wheel on door pillar near your accelerator under trim there is a blue box with with a conector going into it cut the white wire, no beeps from inginton or door but everything else works

If you disconnect the white connector wotsit under the steering wheel cowling (as I have done) you lose the beeping for the key-in-ignition, BUT you also lose the reverse beeper and the louder of the roof elevating beepers (unless you have your lights on :? )

Anybody got the definitive answer on JUST getting rid of the key-in-ignition beep?????

Yep, as Daveblueozzie says above, remove the cowling, find the white wire, snip it,insulate wire, job done! All the other beeps remain!

key beep

LOVE my new (2 weeks) Bongo witht he one exception being this key beep is driving me nuts! I've tried to disable it by: 1. snipping the white wire coming from the only blue box near the steering column - it's not near the accelerator but directly under the column; no joy there but I ensured there was just enough slack to re-connect it so that's fine;
2. second attempt meant removing the whole cowling around the ignition and column to get to a connector that looks a little like the photo here; disconnecting this leads to no beep but no ignition either; there definitely isn't enough play in this box's white cable to re-connect if necessary so I don't want to risk needing a tow truck (!).
So ... is there an accessible lead anywhere which is easily identifiable which will disable the key-in-lock-door-open beep?
Help!

I can't understand what all the fuss is about, if you want all beeps except for key in ignition - but door open then look under the steering column cowling and DISCONNECT (no need to snip/cut/chop) the white connector as shown in the photo above as posted by brorabongo.

The large blue connector down by the accelerator pedal will stop all beeps if disconnected.

different wiring for key alarm?

I wonder if my confusion arises from having a different wiring setup ... I don't have a blue box near the accelerator - just 6 white ones - and I'm afraid I couldn't work out from the photo where the white box featured is.

Sorry if my query caused a fuss.

You did nothing wrong at all

If you don't know you are right to ask

First put your location on your profile so if some one is close they could offer to help.

the blue box in hiding behind the cover that rises from the floor by the door on the drivers side,

the white connector I found by tilting the steering colum down and getting a screwdriver in and disconnecting it I will try to get pics for you

I just went out and checked too, the white connector under the steering colum I accessed by pulling the steering colum aduster and in the gap it leaves there is a white connector with 2 wires just to the left of the gap as you look towards it, a bigger connector is above

I've just undid the connector shown in the picture, our bongo is a low roof manual and therefore does not have a beep for reversing or roof etc. I do still have the lights left on warning alarm working.
