When reaching the late 60's mph my Freda starts to vibrate but not the steering wheel? the doors get such a rhythm going that they come away from the top seal about 5mm the sat nav on the front window starts to wobble i can even feel it through the seat. when i reach 80 it calms down a bit (tested on private track  ) any ideas could it be something to do with the prop or drive shafts?

cheers manners

This is a common problem usually caused by the front wheels not being balanced correctly.

First place to start is having your front wheel balance checked. We had to have ours done twice to get rid of the wobble.

It had new tyres on it just before i bought it and the balancing weights are shiny and new, it doesn't seem to be coming through the steering wheel if i loosen my grip it doesn't shake anywhere near as bad as everything else.

Still worth getting the wheel balance checked, I would have thought - it is likely to be a much cheaper option than anything more serious to do with drive shaft joints, etc.

As I said we had to have ours re-balanced - in our case despite new tyres and new weights.

the wheels need to be balanced by the centre hub and not by the studs.ours had the same problem but it went straight after i got them rebalanced properly

Get your wheels balanced and your tracking checked at the same time as I had the same problem and ended up getting both done to solve the problem, are you running on steel or alloys :?: as some after market alloys can be a nightmare to balance.

I've always found the stud hole method better dreamer..........they seem to be perfectly concentric - the centre isn't guaranteed to be :?

I have 18" alloys (fitted when i bought it) and have had them balanced twice and the tracking checked.
Still at 60mph I feel a wobble.
Can anyone give further details on the importance of the 'central hub' fitting?
Is it possible to buy/fit spacers to ensure a good fit?

Cheers, Ames

Its possible you may need to check your drop links
they can cause wobble too

also I remember some one posting that they swapped the front wheels and that cured it

check your wheel nuts are right for the wheels and that there is a spigot that fits the hub
