Cabin filter

Can anyone tell me if Bongos should have a cabin filter to filter the incoming cabin air before it gets to all the aircon gubins? (note:- I am not on about the engine air filter )
A quick look in the inlet ducting seems to show a cavity that could be where there is meant to be a filter..... just in front and above the blower fan. Removing the flat inlet duct that is plastic riveted above the front grill reveals the cavity I am talking about and also reveals the blower fan blades and the flap that provides the recirculating function. Judging from the crud on the fan blades, mine has been opperating without a filter for a long time and as this is the first air con vehicle I have come across that has not got a cabin filter this concerns me somewhat!

Mine is the same. Whilst poking around I realised that the flat inlet isn't attached to the body work. On further investigation I found the plastic clips wedged into the fan blades, along with a couple of large bugs and sweet wrappers. So no filter here either.........

just took a look at mine too , took the flat plastic inlet duct off and there is only the fan in the void , mine wasnt attached to the bodywork either missing the plastic pushfit clips :? , on another note i have been told that the flat plastic inlet was more for the hotter climates , but i have still left it in situ as didnt want any crap going into the fan

Hi Pippin, Can we have a photo or some measurements? I guessed 175 mm x 75 mm x 22 mm thick.
