A wealth of useful information there Pippin. Written in a reasonably accessible style and offering good advice on 'safety' issues.
The comments on the dangers present, when working with lead acid and other batteries are crucial. Sometimes people are unaware that in certain conditions batteries can explode and caution needs to be exercised.
Having seen this happen several times in industrial installations I approach working the battery with a degree of care. As an example:The potential for fire, explosion or major damage to the electrical system when 'jump starting' is well covered. The article describes the safest way of competing this task. A few simple precautions can save tears, pain and a hole in the bank balance.

I might copy it into WORD and edit some of the Americanese into propa English.
I would also highlight some of the safety info and bring it to the top of the article.
Sound like a good idea?

Sounds like a good idea Pippin, i don't think people realise there dealing with a bomb if handled incorrectly. I think a good dose of safety first is the order of the day on this one. Rich

Sshhh don't give them terrists ideas! Next thing we know it they'll try and use a car with petrol, gas _and_ a battery to kill thousands.
(Cos none of us drive round in vehicles with 60l of petrol, gas cans and multiple batteries ever... :O)
