Grrrrrrr - I'll get you Peg Leg. But OK, I'll give it some thought. No promises though - I'm a tired and ageing ex-organiser who doesnt really want to go back there!

But if I did, I've got an urge for somewhere like Bishops Castle in Shropshire, or Rutland Water, or maybe the Cotswolds. I'd also love to find somewhere cheap / wild camp focused like we managed to do at Walters Wirral bash and the Charity Farm (Wigan) meet i.e. water, toilet block, but no hook up. What does the team think? 8)

Rutland Water's great. There's a small, cheap camp site opposite the sailing club on the south shore by Edith Weston. Not sure about toilet blocks/water, but could 'borrow' the sailing club facilites over the weekend. I'll be up there 8-9 Mar 08 for a sailing bash. Plenty of good small village pubs nearby and there's plenty to see around Stamford/Burleigh House etc. I'm also up there this Nov 10-11 if you want me to find out more stuff?

Here's the campsite link. They're open from start of March 'til end of Oct, depending upon the state of the field. It can get a bit boggy after lots of rain, but otherwise it's a great pitch and can't be bad for a fiver a night!

Rutland Water site looks very good. Been to the Sailing Club many times over the years. About 3 hours drive up from Eastbourne, so could be a good location to attract a wide area of Bongo and maybe ex-Bongo, perhaps

Oooh - just returned from hols to find everyone likes the idea of Rutland Water. Fantastic. Thanks to scrawny, Dago et al for giving +ve indicators etc.

OK,

I'll start a new thread to gauge interest properly, and look at dates - OK? Thanks scrawny for offering to recce the site. If anyone lives near the Rutland Water campsite and/or has links with sailing there etc. maybe they could help scrawny out with making discreet enquiries about hosting a Bongo weekend?

I might even bring my two large 'Marblehead' radio control yachts out of mothballs for the occasion and if the weather is suitable.
