Bongo Fury

Having just fitted a set of bling alloys I thaught I would use one of the original Mazda alloys as a spare. Unfortunatly the thingy on the end of the wire underneath Mango wont fit throught the hole in the center of the wheel. Does anyone have a solution

Ditto. Are you sure you've pointed the thingie through the hole properly and not just tried to shove it in sideways, or just roughly

Yep, it will fit for sure.

Poke it through the hole end on.

If you think about it it has to be wider than the hole, otherwise how would it hold the wheel in place?:?:

If the wheel fits on the hub, then it must fit on the end of the wire, or the original space saver wouldn't have fitted either.

The problem seems to be that on the alloy the center hole is counterbored on the inside The spacesaver is not as it is much thinner. The outer part where the center cap fits is about 10mm smaller than the part that fits on the car, hence the dangly thing doesnt fit.

Ok having thaught about it some more I have fixed it.
The dangly thing wont fit through as the whole unit is too big.

However if you carefull remove the stop that is crimped onto the cable
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb11 ... Wheel2.jpg then the rectangular piece of metal is free to slide up the cable, which means that you can pass it through bit by bit.

Well I do apologise - a picture is worth 1,000 words (as long as it is below 640x480 ).

And these are genuine Mazda alloys? Most alloy wheels have much bigger centre caps than that and seem to be a standard size (for example the centre caps from my wife's factory fit Audi wheels fit both types on aftermarket wheel fitted to our Bongo - different wheel on spare)
