Gawd knows. But if its a clonking noise when going over rough bits of road, then drop links and / or anti-roll bar bushes are a likely / common cause. Pretty cheap and easy to fix (provided you arent unlucky with old / seized bolts) and makes I huge improvement (did to mine anyway). Lots of stuff on BF about it.

Hi Bantaman, and welcome, could you be a little more descriptive of the type of noise you can hear please?

Rumbling /droning... maybe wheelbearing/low diff oil

Squeaking : partially worn spring upper rubber sleeve/ shim.

clonking: as mike says.

For example, i had the springs replaced on my bongo a couple of weeks ago,and all was fine for a couple of days, then i started to hear a rumbling/distant clonking sound  A visual inspection didn't throw any light onto the problem.

Then a week later the sound had dissapeared! replaced instead with the sound of my bumpstop falling off, it would appear that the bumpstop had worked its way loose, and had somehow got trapped between the axle, and the spring, the sound dissapeared after the bumpstop dropped off, so the noise had apparently eminated from the bumpstop. (which has now been replaced)

If it is the back axle walk away. This will sound like a permanent drone that changes volume in direct proprtion to road speed. The trouble is the wheel bearings can sound similar and they arent deal breakers. If the droning changes intensity when alternating between left and right hand bends then it is probably a wheel bearing.

Clonking noises are easy and cheap to fix. It will just be bushes and drop links.

If you like the van for other reasons then consider a RAC report to narrow it down.
