Rear air conditioning conversion question

I haven't looked yet!
But as I am planning to do a home conversion to Bungle but would like to know what happens to the rear air conditioning unit in the trim....?
Is it just going to be a case of extending a wiring loom? Or am I asking for more problems?
(Gosh, I'm so excited.... My partner has agreed I can convert it myself after she read Skubakeefy's postings!)

It depends on what type of A/C you have is it the electronic type or manual slider type|?
It is satisfying doing your own conversion, but remember it will be you sitting in it and noticing all those little bits that you could have done better. but on a brighter note depending on how you construct it, you can always remove those little bits and not have any nasty surprises on whats behind it.
OR
you could pay a few thousand and be sitting in it and noticing all those little bits that you just dont like, or that could have been done alot better for your mony.
I have seen a conversion recently, by a company that claims to do a lot of "proffesional conversions", the owner paid £2500 for it, after seeing what I had done for a few hundred quid, he felt quite seen off.
if you do pay for one make sure you see what you are getting before hand
keep it simple, if you do decide to go it alone, that will still be tricky enough.
feel free to pop down to somerton, if you would like a better look at what I have done

I am NOT a carpenter or claim to have any usuable knowledge in the subject, i just made a basic frame and then decorated with MDF, and Fablon, if it looked poop when I had finished, I was quite prepared to replace the MDF with Conti board, and use the MDF as the template.

Hey Naughtydog - Had to re-read your post 3 times - kept being distracted by bouncing bits... Most off putting...

the side conversion was how i purchased the bongo, it was a nice conversion but not that well thought out.
i changed to the rear conversion to give me more space and make some more cupboards from the floor to roof
let me know when your bored of the jiggly's i will find some newer and less firmer ones for you

Thanks Naughtydog
The front Aircon unit is buttons only but the rear one has buttons and one slider on it (is this usual?).
Moving the speaker will be simple, and so will the blind switches.
I'm going ahead with the home conversion. Will buy the rock'n'roll bed frame ready made, put it in place and then build around it.
I have installed many kitchens and bathrooms into houses over the years but never owned a van before so although not claiming to be an expert (see definition below) at Bongo conversions she-who-never-does-the-cooking-when-camping took a few looks at Scubakeefy's pictures and told me to get on with building my own..... adding that I could do much better, but I don't want to get into any competition based on that comment!
So I might take up your offer to visit your Bongo sometime within the next week if you are available, thanks, I'll PM you later.

Oh yeah... Forgot the definition of an expert....
An Ex is someone who is past it, and a spert is a drip under pressure!
