hi again,

thought i would get my moneys worth and ask another question as you lot are soooo brainy....

when i turn my engine off i can hear in the last two seconds an engine juddering noise....when i mentioned this to my engineer he said what do you expect from a diesal...so i left it at that, then saturday night i could hear the same noise when i had the engine running and i was stationary but if i gave it a little more revs then it stopped, sounded like the engine was rattling and going to drop out.....sounded like a bag of nails putting it nicely,

do you think its just the timing needs a tweek......and when it does it when the engine turns off thats normal.

please help

thank you

:D :D :D

Is your tickover speed too low? I think mine ticks over at about 800 rpm.

When did you last change your air filter?

'Our Freda' developed similar symtoms at the end of an overdue service interval (12,000km in dusty France) last summer but it cleared up as soon as the garage fitted a new air filter.

good luck

its more of a rattle, like its held in with bolts and its loose......but give it a rev and it goes......

Just stick the idle speed up 50 or 100 revs and it should be fine. If your idle speed is allready up at the 900 mark then you should give it a service and check the engine mounts.

could be worn rubber bushes that hold the 2 chrome pipes that run underneath. Mine clanked and rattled at low revs and when I turned off the engine - really cheap and easy to fix -
