lost dip stick

What you need to do is lift up the carpet round the front of the passenger seat release the two catches unscrew the centre consol. Release the catch just by the gear stick. Slide your seat back. Lift the hatch and hey presto yellow dipstick is clearly seen on the top left had side. This is all from memory.

OK I don't yet own a Bongo although I've been seriously considering getting one. Now, tell me. Is that REALLY the way you check the oil in one? Please tell me it isn't. If it is I won't be getting one.

Did you really expect the dipstick to reach all the way from under the 'bonnet' to the mid-mounted engine?
Come on it's no big deal and it's not as if you need to check the oil every day. Once a year is enough

unfortunately this is the way you check your oil on a bongo on the other side is where you check your power steering fluid and your transmission fluid (drivers side) honest its no problem at all 1 minute to remove consul etc and the added bonus of staying dry if it rains.
don't let it put you off getting one its no big deal.

I dont use the dipstick as my bongo isfitted with a red light on the dashboard that comes on when the engine runs out of oil.

Please don't for one minute let that put you off. You would be surprised how easy it is to reach most of the engine componants this way, compared to only getting to one side if under a bonnet. As said "it only takes a minute" ( I feel a Take That song coming) and in that time you could get both sides opened, and ready to tinker

Gina. and anyone else who may be fairly near to me in Aberdare, if at any time any one wants to pop over with thier bongo or meet somewhere, I am fairly conversant with all parts and how to get to em, first thing I did ( after learning my lesson with space cruisers and my espace) was to find everything that need finding... if that makes sense.
