Bongo Fury

I have read Colins posts on oil, however if you want to use 5w-30 which is suitable for diesel engines all the following are marked as API CF SL.
The CF indicate suitable for diesel use.
All are semi synthetic and can be found in motor factors

Comma Eurotch 5W30
Comma Xtech 5W-30
Comma Motrway 5W-30
Comma Premium flow 5W-30
Carlube 5W-30

Price tends to be under £20 for 5 litres which is not cheap but is a lot cheaper than most of the big name brands.

If you see oil in LIDL or WILCO and it is marked API CF and is a suitable grade 5W-30.
Then that is also a suitable oil. If it is not marked API CF I for one would not use it.

Synthetic blend and semi-synthetic doesn't mean a thing. It is a big con to make you think you are buying synthetic oil. It doesn't mean it's bad oil, just be aware you are not buying synthetic oil. The manufacturers only need to put a small percentage of synthetic oil into a mineral base and the rest is misleading blurb. Fully synthetic oil is a very different thing and probably way over the top for a Bongo.

Blimey that sounds a good price paul9 whatever the blend. I'll have to look out for prices like that.

Yeah I usually pay about 30 quid for a 20 litre drum of semi-synth although I need to source a new supplier as my factors have moved away from Fuchs (nee Silkolene) and no that's not a spelling mistake nor rude. Comma is a good brand and I've used it in the past. Must do some legwork and find new supplier.......
