Inset fog light + Inset reversing light option

A while ago some folk commented that having one fog on the RHS annoyed them because having one light looked odd on the bumper. Some fitted twin fogs but an alternative might be to fit an extra reversing light . It uses the same frame as the fog.

Any idea where to get the plain type from? I have the red equivalent already.

Sounds like the USA source might be a good deal cos Protechnical are selling them for £23 plus vat . Seems that the fog lights are cheaper because they sell a lot more of them and get bulk order discounts.
The light is made by hella .There may well be other sources of supply .

Just looked at the USA link above - - - It is a totally different light /housing . So its the Protechnical price to beat if you want to match the rectangular fog

'fraid so. I still think a very intersting approach would be a lamp that shines into the reversing mirror (or at least downwards from it), which then spreads a pool of light over the area of most importance when reversing. But then my name IS 8) Heath Robinson.

They do look so much smarter set into the rear bumper, it's whether I have the guts or not to attempt to cut the holes is the question for me. I still have a voice warning reversing gizmo to fit as well, simple to do it's just doing it, that's the problem. Happy motoring.

I was the same as you David. I had the light for weeks before I had the guts to cut the hole. But I'm very pleased with the results.

I wouldn't bother with an extra reversing lamp, having tinted windows it would only make it slightly less dim.

Agree with Ozric on all counts. the trick with the hole cutting business is measure once, measure twice, mark out with masking tape, all of this 60 times if need be but just take your time. The plastic cuts beautifully though (just drill a little hole in each corner of the cutout area at start of job and check after each hole that it is coming out on the blind side where it should - then drill a few more small holes along a side and join them up using side pressure on the drill - then you can get a coping saw blade in to rrun along and cut out that side).

Daft question now, are the rear fogs a standard buy or from evil bay, I am thinking about sizes to cut. Happy motoring.

Hi Dave
I bought mine from here
http://www.importedvehicles.co.uk/fog_lights.htm

Specify the nice round switch - it comes as part of the kit and if you already have a Mazda dash one it can be used for other electrical stuff

The frame is really easy to fit You can even colour code it to the bumper if you want .
