URGENT. HELP!

My fuse no:19 has blown.
Man in garage says it's still safe to drive as it's controlling internal lights only.
On the fuse list no: 19 is 'optional'.

A replacement was supposed to arrive today but hasn't, and I'm going to scotland for long weekend this evening.

Is it still safe to drive?

I thought you could get these fuses anywhere (e.g. Halfrauds) and the colour coding is an industry standard. Match the colour = match the rating.

Anyone else better qualified able to comment?

Mike

PS - I bought a box of assorted spares off evilbay for something silly like £2.99 including postage

Those big PAL type male fuses are difficult to track down. They are only used on Japanese vehicles, and not many firms stock them.

Fuse 19 is available through Durite stockists and is code 0-379-03, but they are "special order" items, and take 2 to 3 working days. We also stock them here at Bongo Towers, but as part of a set.

Usually this fuse is used for after-market accessories, like LED lighting or parking sensors. It won't be for the internal lights. That's fuse number 1.

Woops - sounds like I'm in the wrong fusebox (and there's me servicing my own Bongo when Ian gets his done)

AndAndDen - Same thing. Guess where I picked up witty little terms like Halfrauds and Evilbay from? I think you've guessed already. Got me into bad habits BF has. 8)

CRISES OVER!!!

Maglett Senior (my mum!) phoned around at 3pm, LSUK in Caernarfon had on in which she picked up, came home and fitted it in the Bongo by 4pm! :D :D :D :D :D

£2.35 it cost, plus £10 in fuel! #-o

The ones we ordered on Tuesday will arrive tomorrow!!! So now we'll have a couple of spares.

I can relax now. :P

So in 1 hour I can go off to the Scottish Borders to do some MountainBiking - the storage box / coffin(!) and the new lino floor will be put to the test, and my new stereo with remote, and the Ipod, and my new sunglasses 8) , and new cycling helmet, and new kettle and cafetiere mugs, and.......

Without the fuse all of the electrics apart from the internal lights in the roof, rear and middle worked. (electrics being cigarette socket, radio, windows, main lights, beeps, everything I could switch on/off really!)

With the fuse the lights also worked!

Stayed in Innerleithen for a few nights, rode glentress and innerleithen trails again, a friend competed in the Polaris MTB Challenge which was based there, and had a great time with blue sky and warm(ish) sunshine!
