Canna agree with you Briwy. No neeps with the tatties and Haggis, thats sacrilegious.

So what's the script with Derbyshire oatcakes, never seen them or tried them, are they similar to Staffys and what do you have them with - and where's best to sample them?briwy wrote:Mmm, looks good Paul, at least once its past the catfood stage.
Have to be a Derbyshire oatcake though, got a superb local supplier us, not wanting to start an oatcake war though.
You should be able to get frozen neeps!briwy wrote:Bigger, better, Derbyshire oatcakes here.

The ones I had a kid which got me started on them were made in Buxton by Holmfield Bakery which was owned by an ex footballer called John Higgins who played for Bolton Wanderers. His family took over the business but it sadly closed down so now have to eat the "foreign" ones from Calver.
Calver is only about 5 miles from the Ashford/Bakewell Bongo site so I suggest we have have an "oatcake in" in October.
Neeps, I know Tony but we can't all be perfect, perhaps we could get some tinned neeps as well.
Less talk of 'frozen neeps' please, last couple of winters were bad enough!!!! Legs crossed for a mild one next yearBongopoet wrote:You should be able to get frozen neeps!briwy wrote:Bigger, better, Derbyshire oatcakes here.
