Just thought I would ask if there is any updates on Anna. Christmas has come and gone and now New Year's Eve is upon us and I cannot help thinking of Jimmy and his family suffering.

Jimmy just rang me with an update. There has been a definite improvement over the last couple of days and she is only being given oxygen (and assistance with breathing) for a short time each day. She is also starting to chat a little and is far more aware of what is happening

She is finally aware of all the cards and messages, although hasn't actually read them herself yet - Jimmy has read them all to her and is saving them for a scrapbook type thing.
So, fingers crossed that the improvement continues

Thanks for the update John. We've been thinking of Anna and Jimmy all through the holiday but scarcely dared add to the many good wishes being expressed, while we were hearing nothing new. Time for a card to go from Chez Miel tomorrow, hopefully to now arrive when Anna's ready to read some herself. Keep on getting better Anna, and keep your chin up, Jimmy - not at all easy when your spouse is ill, as I know from personal experience.

That's marvellous news. I too have been thinking of Anna & Jimmy and their family every day.

That small improvement has doubtless made for a cheering start to 2010 for everyone, including all the staff involved in Anna's care. I continue to hope and pray that small improvements and no further set backs will lead to a full recovery very soon.
