That must have been a very severe winter as Aber falls are only a few feet above sea level and it's not very often it freezes to any great extent. It's not even mentioned in the 'winter climbs' guide..!

You are right Debbie it was in the late 1970,s. I have dug out some old photographs of myself and my nephew Peter climbing Snowdon in February 1978, that must have been the year.

Snowdon from the Pig track. Llyn Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw were frozen over, we walked on them.

Peter ploughing on ahead of me up the Pig track.

Me making a hard job of it. I was better looking in those days.

The west face of Snowdon. We took the path up as I was no climber in those days.

You will have a wee problem if you want to see these views of Snowdon Gary & Tina. The Bongo Meet campsite is on the opposite side of the mountain from where Snowdon looks much different. You will need to drive round Pen-y-pass on the Pass of Llanberis and walk to Llyn Llydaw on the low level miners track to see Snowdon in its full glory.

I am really tempted but it is a long way down the motorway and I still don't have my MS-50 Cruise Control fitted.
Put me down as a remote possibility with leccy if possible.

As far as I know at the moment Tony, all pitches have leccy & water too, whether you need it or not.
How posh is that!!

Does that just mean they're waterlogged when you say they have water?
