Hats off to Geoff (Alacrity) again for that one. Can't help but think it takes something to end up with that much water in a fuel tank. WTF?!?!    :-& 8-[ :-k =; ](*,) 8)

I am surprised that the Sediment warning light did not come on. If the garage still has a sample of the water it would be interesting to know if it tasted Salty (very slight taste).

Yes, so water in the tank

To this day the only way I think it could have got there was an unscrupulous petrol station owner in Bratislava, as the problems started after filling up there. Unless in some way having a loose fuel cap sucks in water from the outside when it rains??! The other possibility is that I left it unlocked and some joker poured a load of water in the tank?! The last is that I filled up from the wrong pump and they charge an awful lot for water over in Slovakia

So bad fuel was my first thought but I guess something got lost in translation as I did raise the issue that it may have been bad fuel, but the mechanic never picked up on it. I was sooo close to retiring bongy...

That cost an absolute packet. I only hope the expense and pain leads to someone else not making the same mistake..
