stoneyloon wrote:Hi all, as I'm new to the bongo community I'm not too sure how to go about putting myself forward for this meet.

I called the campsite earlier today and booked a pitch but didn't say that i was part of the bongo fury club as i'm still waiting for my membership card to come through and wasn't sure if they needed it. I booked for Friday onwards as I'm unsure if we'll be able to make Thursday at the moment.

Really looking forward to meeting some other bongo fanatics and only our second trip away in ours so no laughing at the awning being put up
Hi there

All spare pitches have now been passed back to the site, so I believe you need to book direct with them anyway. Best to tell them you are part of us lot so that they put you in a pitch beside us.

We are looking forward to this meet to and will be nice to see you and everyone else. Promise not to laugh at your awning if you do the same with us  New awning and only going to be the second outing with it!

We'll be there from mid to late Friday afternoon onwards after we've made a detour via the Black Isle Brewery for some supplies :D

We'd never laugh at anyone putting up their awning as we still remember the first time we tried and failed to put up our big rear driveway awning in a howling gale. If you have any trouble I'm sure there will be plenty of others to offer you a hand.

It might be an idea for people to put their forum names inside their windscreens to help out people who heven't been along to any of the bashes or meets.

I'll be travelling up on this Friday 10th May if anyone needs anything reasonably small being taken up to Scotland.

Apparently the black pudding that's sold in the Gairloch butchers is also very good.

Travelling to the Gairloch from the lothians, do we have to cross the Kessock bridge, if so, I keep hearing traffic reports of massive delays due to road works, anyone in the Inverness area who can shed any light on this? Can we take an alternative route if there is a problem?

Starting to pack now, will be heading out early evening to avoid traffic on the motorways (ha! they'll probably be closed for road works!) taking frequent breaks to exercise my knee - oh and the dog! Looking forward to breakfast at Tebay ......

Remember, if you want us to bring anything from the Bongo Shop (discounted ofcourse!), or even some Yorkshire food  let us know by Tuesday 1pm. We are breaking the journey at Helensburgh on the way up.

Box of de-icer might be a good idea, forecasting snow on the telly tonight.
