Its about 25 mins south of swindon, 50mins north of Salisbury - if thats any clearer! Quite close to Avebury stones (mini stonehenge) - for any druids out there!! :D

Sparkymik - do you have anyones contact numbers off the list .... it might be wise to call before you leave - but can't really see that there'd be too much of a problem - might just be cosy!!! Happy to give you my number if you want to pm me

There's a link to the location on Multimap on the Barge Inn link, hoping to get a trip up to Avebury in, maybe on the sunday if anyone's interested? Weather dependant of course, shame it's a bit late for the crop circles, although they may still be visible 8)

Thanks to a heads-up from Kirsty, we'd like to make an appearance. Haven't been out in t'Bongo for over month.
But Wiltshire ... isn't that the bit on the verge of the 303?

Tee hee.

Absolutely. It'll be good to meet up.

I've been thinking of a further trip to France, LD Lines have got prices going down to £39 each way for 5 days Pompe to Le Havre in October....
We stayed at a lovely spot on the Loire earlier this year, it's only a few hours' drive! Depends if we can fit it in, as they say.

I may consider going up on the friday for this one, make a couple of days of it if it's not too cold or wet, was thinking of taking Dorothy

They say on their website "no open fires", but seem happy enough for BBQ's, so I'd have though she'd be ok, doesn't let the grass scorch, cook your food on it then chuck a few logs in to keep warm later? what do you reckon?

We may join you earlier, Kirsty. It depends on 'other factors'.

I couldn't get the link to The Barge to work earlier, but have finally managed it and it looks a super location.

I'm still planning on coming but I've got to have my flu jab on the Saturday morning before I set off :( . Still just me and the dog! I'll only be able to stay one night though.

Looking forward to walking on the Pewsey downs! :D
