Tan Hill Inn. N. Yorks Moors. July 26th With A Band!!

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

when we look how we have the bongo set up now we dont need the camping site facilities.
just lacking a shower but we can at least have a cat lick in a bucket.
toilet no problem and we always carry round 240v mains power.
also you can park up where you want within reason and enjoy the countryside as it should be seen.

I'm right with you....I only use campsites when I absolutely have to (like at bongo meets)

Yes - just returned from 2 weeks in Scotland - only stayed on sites for 2 nights. The Highlands are very suitable if you use common sense. Dont overnight in passing places, in front of gates and if you want quiet just wander off onto the little side roads. Mind you if too many of us do it too often it will inevitably cause some problems for the local inhabitants.

it is legal in scotland unlike here.
without a conversion wild camping isn't really an option for us although we are set up so we could do an overnighter
en route just pile all the stuff in the AFT and let the seats down, but without the awning theres no-where to put the loo and i for one am getting far too old to think that nettle rash on the posterior is funny anymore.

After the rampaging success of Mikes York bash I thought I'd flag this one up again to tempt those that missed out (& indeed, those who didn't!) to get out there, let the hair down (where appropriate!) & have a great time.

Confirmed so far:

& definite maybe's

It is, officially just the Saturday night but it seems a fair few are making a weekend of it so its morphing into a Friday/Sunday do.

Cost wise, looking around £10/£12 per Bongo, any surplus going behind the bar.

& don't forget, the World Class entertainment.

Tan Hill is a madhouse.

You'll all feel right at home there.

We stopped at Tan Hill on the way back from Scotland, fantastic place and a great welcome - BUT - the b***** roosters get up at about 04.00 and don't stop squawking until about 08.00.

Tip - if you go east from the pub there is a sizeable pull in on your right a couple of hundred yards along and you should get a quieter nights sleep.

Have a great time guys, shame it's so far from us. :(

Bob, any chance you could knock up a quick album or send me a CD of some of your favourite drinking songs for the do?

It really ain't gonna be the same without you there. :(

Maybe the next one I sort out will have you factored into the deal. . . .

Just not the same without you there.

=D> =D>

As a P.S.

If enough peeps order chicken the night before, the noise isn't there in the morning.

Strange!!

I doubt very much we could do justice to the obvious talents of Bob and his songs - but we can have a go at wrecking them. We're good at that
