Hit the link above, listen to the Brass Band, learn the words & get yourself in the mood for a brill time by the sea in the sunshine [-o<

I'll be on site from midday on Friday to welcome you all to my home town.
By now you'll have received the weekend details from the Bongomeister, if you require more directions for getting here, contact me before Thursday night.

The walk is organised for Saturday and it's mainly flat going, across the pevensey marshes. Other than a couple of dykes to get over, we only have to cross the mainline railway twice. Not a problem but care will definitely be needed after visiting the pub.
Fortunately we're not looking for a Red Lion, just hoping that the Smuggler's Inn

Also, one of our friends operates the pleasure boat which does trips from the harbour to Beachy Head - we aren't sure whether this will be operating as early as April but we'll ask him as that might be of interest to some Bongoliers - perhaps an early evening trip. Of course it would be weather dependent but if April is like last April we will have the best weather of the year! (Of course it may snow  ) http://www.visiteastbourne.com/thedms.a ... &easi=true
Unfortunately, due to the pleasure boats not being back in the water in time for next weekend, the trip I had planned as an extra excursion for all you landlubbers  :-& is now not going to happen. #-o

However (to make amends), we have 2 pictures below of the garden area of the Royal Oak & Castle

This has bar far the bigger area of the 2 pubs and is right outside the Castle walls.

and just a few yards down the road is the Smugglers (with play area in the background)

Hi there Dago and Mrs D,
Looking forward to meeting you and everyone on Friday. Just got back from a cultural exchange visit in't Wirral, It was blinkin' cold, not like the sunny South; we only say sunny because we're told the sun is somewhere above the grey clouds! :-({|= We've packed our wellies and sou'wester, ready for a great weekend. 8) Also a drop of whiskey, for medicinal purposes you understand. :^o

Weather been glorious here all weekend. Saturday a tad windy and there were a couple of quick showers early on Sunday but, hey, it is April after all :!: Dago's packed his shorts for next weekend - possibly a bit optimistic   Bring jumpers, macs, wellies and suntan lotion.

Open fires not allowed but gas or instant are ok so long as they're off the ground.

In hospital this evening having toe op....

Should be arriving Thursday despite bandaged foot, so I'm hoping it ain't going to rain.... [-o< Customary evening painkiller will be an essential requirement .

Will probably require help erecting (repaired) awning. Otherwise please don't laugh when I hit my foot with the mallet.... [-X
