Hey Tay,
Great pics of the convoy. Shame you didn't get one of the bit where Dave turned off into the Water Treatment Works thinking it was the campsite and we all duly followed

Well peeps...what can I say that hasn't been said already.
Once I got my legs working again today after our gentle stroll I've finally got around to checking out the piccies. They really captured the spirit of the weekend.
Really had doubts as to if the marquee would stay up on Friday night. It did in fact move two foot sideways but the storm straps kept it down. Three zips popped and its taken me 4 hours to get things sorted. We had a great team putting it up in a gale on Friday and dismantling it on Sunday morning in incredibly sunny calm weather. First time it has been packed dry for about 18 months.
The weather also defied the usually 100% accurate Mountain Weather Information Service and I didn't really expect to get out on the hill on Saturday. In the event our intrepid party managed the gentle stroll as planned...8 miles and three quarters the way up Snowdon..pretty much the same route as Tay's group. A bit windy/gusty in places but otherwise great weather. Particular mention must go to 10 year old Annabelle who bounded around like a mountain goat putting us oldlies to shame. Back in the 60s I patrolled this route and Crib Goch on Bank Holidays as a National Park Warden and thought nothing of going up and down Snowdon 4 or 5 times a day. What a difference 40 years makes

. Incidentally congrats to Bongolow who forged on and made it to the summit.
Thanks to all those who fed and watered me over the weekend. I never managed to get my kitchen unpacked! Particular mention and thanks to And & Den who once again managed to fill me with good food and got me drunk (again) on Saturday night in their newly refurbed 'land of leather' bongo interior...probably one of the nicest and most tasteful conversions I've encountered.
And of course....special thanks to Mr M and family for setting the meet up. I'd never normally make such a long trip from the Lakes to a meet but it was well worth it. It was amazing to return to my original stomping ground where I cut my mountaineering teeth after 25 years away.
Thanks again all.
H

There's just no stopping you is there! Your trip back beats YBBs record but Kirsty smashes both of you.
& Tay - theres me thinking I'd not seen you all weekend. As we were driving back down the road from the full car park to find a spot to dump the motors, you gave us the Secret Sign! Wondered who that was . . . .
Great set of pics from all of you & very well done on that trek. Dunno about you, I felt fine sunday morning but come wake
up for work time monday, I couldn't even lift a toothbrush!
Until the next time.
