We’ve got a massive 23 (possibly 24) on the list, although not everyone has re-confirmed yet and some may change their minds. I’ve found out that there’s also a VW T25 meet of some 22 units there too! If we all turn up, should be fun (plenty of room don’t worry).
When you arrive, and please note the directions instructions on the Eastnor Castle website if you haven’t been there before, we will all be situated at the far end of the Deer Park, which is the only section that has the water turned on. I’ll be arriving at around lunchtime on Friday and I’ll try to put my flag up first, so you can find me – you should recognise the flag. As far as I know, there’s no one planning to arrive before Friday. My unit is a green Mazda Bongo tintop with a Quechua base standard (tent) and small Erde trailer. Depending on the wind, I may have a blue canopy up.
If you arrive before me, please try to identify yourself so we can try to be together (unless you would prefer it otherwise)!
Reminder: bring your loo! And firewood and a gazebo or similar if you have one. The weather may be ok but there may be some rain on Saturday. We seem to be on the edge of it. Sunday looks quite good.
I would be grateful if you would please let me know which nights you are planning to stay so I can be prepared. Pay me on arrival (£6.50 per night per pitch) and bring the right change please.
The meet: Friday to Sunday 27 to 29 September - but you can stay till Monday if you wish, that’ll be the last day the Deer Park is open for camping this season.
Facilities: drinking taps, grey taps and somewhere to dump your business!
Allowed: firepits and BBQs off the ground, well-behaved dogs
Walking: it’s a wonderful place to camp, with great walking around the Deer Park, up onto the southern end of the Malverns, into Ledbury (circular) where there’s some nice pubs, and Eastnor Castle itself.
You’ll be welcome to join us on the circular walk to Ledbury and back on the Saturday, incorporating a lovely pub (that does good food) in the centre and the Saturday market. Real ale and all that! Note: there are no buses to my knowledge to come back on!
