Ferries totalled about £360, the Lismore one was expensive for what it is but I didn't fancy going from Port Appin on a bike. The Corrour train / hotel / restaurant wasn't cheap either but an unforgettable experience. Other than the Loch Leven Seafood Café meal, and maybe the Ee-Usk meal, the rest of the fortnight was definitely on a shoestring

From May there's a new Ardrossan to Campbeltown service which would have saved us a whopping £6.50 instead of going via Arran. But then Muzette wouldn't have got to play the Brodick castle Bechstein

				Yet another great tour Paul
Think our wildest night was under the Butt of Lewis lighthouse.
Apart from the wind it got bloody light every 30 seconds
A few drams helped though

Oh yeah, just had an email from Caledonian MacBrayne telling me they're planning to use one of the pics in their 2015 calendar for a small fee

This one.....

The Scots are really tight Muz. I would have thought that your picture would be worth at least a free crossing on one of the routes.

Oddly enough, ferry tickets would be cheaper for them as they're always likely to be able to squeeze another car onto a ferry so that doesn't actually cost them anything.
They need 13 pictures, one for each month plus the cover. The cover wins £250.00 in CalMac vouchers and the other 12 win £50.00 Amazon vouchers, which unless you had an upcoming tour in mind would be more useful. So they pay £850.00 for photos, plus artwork, printing etc and they're flogging the 2014 calendars (which also has one of my photos in

) for £2.00 each - they need to shift a lot of them to make that commercially viable!

Not all Scots are tight Tony. I remember lending a friend of min £5.00 at 4.45 on 5th May 1992, and lost sight of it twice before getting it back at 4.53........

Muz. Get them to pay you in breakfasts. They do a great 'full Scottish' on most of the longer runs.

So there I was, on a quiet Saturday afternoon, flicking through various Scottish websites in search of inspiration for an upcoming tour, like you do, and I spotted this...
Then I looked a bit closer and though "Wait, hold on a minute, I'm sure I recognise that photo in the righthand corner...
