Hi Sharon/Anna
I've been following this thread and would like to offer some advice.
Having tried to organise this sort of thing myself, there's no way you will fit in with everybody and time drags on. Have a look at when most people have already said they're available and pick that date. At least people will have something to aim for and even rearrange prior arrangements so that they can come. I've had several attempts at arranging meets fail because trying to "find" the best time takes too long. People who were available may well have made other arrangements by the time the meet is finally announced.
Whatever you do, don't give up - you will have some failures, but you'll also arrange some great meets

- the Midlands is coming to life

(I'm a Brummie, but don't hold that against me

)
Good luck and I hope you get a good turnout

I was hoping to come myself, but I'm afraid it's a wee bit too far for a day meet - I'll be keeping my eyes open for longer ones though

Hi John,
Thanks for your advice. Absolutely right!. We can't please everyone, so must go for most popular. However we have some great ideas for 2009 and all those unable to make this one, will have that to look forward too. Sharon and Jamie were brave to suggest the Midlands got off their bottoms and go Bongoing
Sorry you can't make it -Still owe you that drink

Maybe next time
Eh!
Cheers Anna

Sincerely hope so Anna
The beauty of the Midlands is that it's not too far for lots of members to travel to. I suspect that when you organise some 2009 meets, you'll get good support from all over the place - especially if you vary them between the North, South, East and West of the region.
Keep up the good work
