Now you should know that is not necessarily so. You are a respected member of this society, please provide unbiased and correct info. A leak dosn't allways drop the header tank level as you know.
The coolant alarm is brill, but is is not a cure all.

TGP.....All I said was, if the above is the case, then the level in the header tank would have dropped by the amount of coolant that was lost.
I did not mention or infer anything else and why you have to mention alarms I don't know.

How far away from Somerton are you??
Cause friction ??? Sombody has a unfortunate way of constantly putting people down...even if the info offered is wrong, it is given in good faith and there is a way of correcting mistakes and putting a view across

When would a leak NOT cause the level in the tank to drop ??

Well Haydn there are some people you can never please, I praise the alarm and you find fault with that.
I mentioned the alarm because you advertise it in all your posts nuff said?
When non technical people ask questions on this forum they consider replies from someone that provide a service as ‘the experts’ so I think it is important that the information provided is correct.

Well we have been there before, remember the pic of me holding up a container with 4lts of coolant that was dropped against the header tank that wasn’t empty? No? If not why not?
No forget that it might seem like I’m trying to restart a thread.
If your question is genuine then I am sorry and have been disingenuous, you don’t have a vested interest it was my fault crediting you with more ability than you have.
I’m not going to answer your question as Mike thought about the problem and got it right on page 2 if you had bothered following it all.

I think we're in danger of forgetting 'onilleymcknown' who just asked us for some friendly advice about a leaky pipe. Did he make it safely to the airport with the leak & get over to Canada ok? I've dropped him a pm to find out how he got on & whether he has made any arrangements to get the leak repaired. I think we're all in agreement that the hose needs to be replaced or at least the damaged section should be cut off. Let's see how Lizard gets on with replacing his bleed pipe & we'll then know whether it can be done without a full bleed.

Ok I am locking this thread as its going down the lines followed so many times before.
