Hi Harry

I have just read the thread again and realised we may not have hook up. I will have to see if we can keep the van warm with the heat diffuser closer to the time because we cant bring mini mc without heat this year I'm afraid.

Hi Cath

At number 15 on the grid you stand a vary high chance of a hoolup.

Don't panic yet.

Don't worry Harry - not panicking and I can see I am quite close. If it isn't too cold it isn't a problem and if my heat diffuser works then ditto but I can't take mini mc for another Buxton I'm afriad. If we get lucky with babysitting then we can cope without hook up no problem. but its too far off to have a clue about that.

Well peeps...its time to bump this up to near the top of the NW list again.

Only about 6 weeks to go.

Still putting together some ideas for 'entertainment'.

One slight glitch is on liability for accidents if we rig a big slide (only a suggestion at the mo) or any other potentially risky 'play' type of equipment.

UK Campsites have, in the past, rigged a big slide on the hillside but the campsite is uninsured for this sort of activity and will no longer allow it unless the organisers have liability insurance. Aparrently the organiser of the UK campsites meet has sorted it out via her own insurance company. Does anyone have this sort of insurance in place?....or if not would everyone be willing to add a small amount to their weekend fee and I'll pursue it through my own business insurance.

If we can't go ahead with this slightly mad idea, then there will still be plenty to do.

I'm away in France from Saturday until 10th September so I'll post more details when I get back.

I'm not collecting deposits this year as last year it caused more hassle than it was worth.
All I ask is that if you have booked a spec (see list on page 1) that you confirm that you are coming. If you have booked a hookup and don't turn up you will have to pay the pitch fee as it will be depriving someone else of the pitch. I'm relying on your goodwill and honesty.

If you want to stay extra nights please sort it out direct with the campsite...but please do not discuss the meet with the owners/warden or if you have to (you shouldn't) please do not post your discussions on the open forum but feel free to PM me.

We have an exclusive booking via me for Friday and Saturday nights. If you turn up early you must be prepared pay the warden for the extra nights at non rally rates then to move pitches if requested to do so. I shall be on site from lunchtime on the Friday and shall hanle all fees for Friday and Saturday.

If anyone has any ideas/offers of a masterclass for late afternoon on the saturday I'd appreciate some input.

cheers

Oops

Nearly forgot.

If you have got children coming to the meet and you are on a hookup please let me know as I try to put the 'families' together and near to the marquee so that parents can supervise their kids and those without kids can have some peace and quiet.

cheers

All sounding good Harry.

So far we have mini mc coming and to be within listening distance of the marq would be excellent. I may have moved up the list I guess due to recent developments but I haven't actually looked at it so I am not sure. I dont mind moving if we end up not bringing him.

Personally I hate the slide idea. Nothing personal against you just my personal opinion - I find those things stressful.

I dont have any insurance like that but ive no objction to paying a bit more if it gets a slide or bouncy castle for the kids, anything left over can go to Gillian

Why,is that likely to cause a problem??

Slide isn't compulsory and as ever the judgement about safety and the individual supervsion of the youngsters will be the responsibility of the parents.....No parent present...no slide etc.

Safety is always paramount and if I have any doubts then it will be stopped.

I used to run adventure holidays for kids and risk assessesment is just part of my normal routine..but in those cases I was 'in locoparentis'.

At bongo meets the descision about activities lies entirely with individual parents and I can and will not be held responsible for 'accidents' for any activity which takes place once I have advised against it.

Different parents have different standards about supervision, and different kids take different risks....its up to each parent to make descisions...there is no right or wrong as long as the activity does not pose a danger or nusiance to others.

I understand harry don't worry-I said I personally found them stressful not that they are a bad idea but obviously its mean to not allow use when others are using.

Shame you're not coming, I've a little puzzle for you which is far too complicated for my little brain. Still it will wait, as it's not very important.
