Fair enough....But please note I have also promoted the Mason and TM2 alarm in this topic.
I am aware of this conflict but at times I think the advice is very relevant to the problem raised and if that is not allowed, should I not answer as best and honestly as I can?
There has been plenty of mention of other Bongo relevant products in various topics and if they are for the benifit of members of this forum then I really don't see a problem.
How are we supposed to bring these items to everyones attention? in particular the new members who are joining every day. Placeing a advert in the for sale or trade section is o.k. and somthing we are working on but, how many regulars visit these areas and the costs of doing this to be effective woud make the price of the item much more.
However I hear what you are saying and if any of the moderators or admin have a problem, so be it.

Hi,
I understand your comment "selling ain't allowed.
However I don't understand the rest of your reply.
I'm not trying to be clever , I just don't understand your point.
If you had somthing of use to us all, It would be no problem to me if it was promoted on the forum.
This is not a gadget that I just brought to the forum to sell.
It was developed after a great deal of input from the membership, then tested by a few members and now is available to the whole membership at a reduced cost. This I think is as it should be. It has saved at least 8 bongos from probable damage.
I would think Flippa has invested time and money in his hoses, surley for the good of us all he should be able to bring them to the forums notice.

Best regards
Haydn

I have the HAYDNS ALARM ,the MASON ALARM, and FLIPPAS SILICON HOSES, none of which i would ever know about if i did not read about them on this forum, there is no hard sell just useful information about these products ,what they do and how they work. i have fitted them as a preventive measure. and like i said before no hard sell ,you buy what you think will be useful to you.

Hi I understand your comment "selling ain't allowed.??? well why is it still done ?? there is a way to promote ideas... its book a advert on the front page, use ebay ( like you do ) if its saves 200 bongos 10 lives and stopped 5 crashes you are still not allowed to premote or sell you wares on this forum ! are you any different than anyone else ? it would appear you will not comply with the rules so carry on .... you will anyway ! thanks Rich

Hi Dave thanks for your comments i agree with you 100% only gripe is selling / pushing it on the forum, use a proper advert on the front page silicone hoses are a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c break through and worth every penny and are where they should be with the massess on ebay thanks Rich

OK, we agree it's selling but, as an administrator, I see no harm in bringing Haydn's alarms and flippa's hoses to the attention of people who may not have heard of them (plenty of users who have bought them will do anyway)- providing that they only do so in relevant threads. After all, these items were developed for OUR benefit with the co-operation of many forum members and, if they can save somebody loads of money, they are sensible purchases. Maybe Ian could give us some guidance here?
Any chance of getting back on topic now

Why just ebay? Many items are sold between members using the for sale section of Bongo Fury. In most cases these items are sold a lot cheaper than the exorbitant prices they are sold for on ebay.

Perhaps we just need a comment. "Check the club shop or the for sale section".

Big Rich you keep mentioning rules and selling ,a lot of this "selling" as you put it is given out as information and advice. as for the "rules" ,i think a little leeway is given considering the great help that these products offer.
You should also remember that Ian sells some of these products in his shop, so it is kinda advertising the shop forum as well because people will order from Ian's shop to buy these products.

A good idea sells itself. However, if club members are not able to make personal reccomendations, then how do you know which one to go for.

I am currently trying to put together my own level warning system. When I have it finished, I shall put some photos upand links to all the places I procured the parts from. Does this mean I am breaking the rules too as I will be advertising Maplin and othe electronics suppliers as a result?

I see nothing wrong with people making ther members aware and infoming them of personal experience.
