NUTS. Sorry to hear that mike. I always try to look on the bright side of everything pants that happens to me and i can't think of one for if this happened to me. For me maybe i would think of it as an opportunity to move on, I have been stuck in the same job for 15 years and couldn't ever imagine being able to get off and start something completely different as the wages would always take a big knock. If i was made redundant then the wages thing wouldn't matter so a definate sideways shift into something completely different would be on the cards.

Sorry to hear that Mike,

If its any consilation, I was made redundant just before easter, got a few bob which was lucky as the goverment help is worthless if you have a pension.
However 5 weeks later my boss rang me and offered me my job back, kept the money got the job back.
You just dont know whats round the corner !!!

eye was made redundant last october, just didnt expect it to happen so soon again.

I reckon that about sums it up. Very sorry to hear this news Mike. I've been there and I reckon a lot on here have too. Well its summer (apart from the odd downpour), which is a plus, and hope you get summat sorted soon. Will be thinking of you.

thanks all for the kind words, im gonna take a chill for a couple of weeks, although ive got about 4 weeks work from friends who know ive just lost me job.
looking in the jobcentre is depressing cause there aint much out there, the last qualified sparkie that got laid off at our spot is now packing sweets in a factory. what a waste of 20 years experience and qualifications.

Terrible news Mike, just when they say that the recession is easing a bit . Keep yourself occupied and something will turn up sooner than you expect. Changed times these days, makes me realise how lucky I was going through my whole career without ever being out of work.
