Ill be bringing a spicy chicken casserole type thingy.
Forecast from the Met Office for Saturday is 'bright with isolated showers' but with 'Severe westerly gales'.

The Crib Goch route up Snowdon might not be such a good idea then....
Unless you bring your wing suit....

Regarding the forecast link, I looked at that one last night and it said the same I think - is it being updated as frequently as e.g. www.metcheck.com (my gliding chums seem to rate that one). Also, I was left uncertain as to whether it was intended to get across weather prospect 'up on t'top' and opposed to 'down at t'bottom' - do you happen to know?bongolow wrote:Ill be bringing a spicy chicken casserole type thingy.

I thinks the Pyg Track for those that want to and are able to go all the way to the top, and the Miners Track for those that want a good walk, but not to the top and too strenuous are the two main choices. and all to the pub after !!!!!! lol

A couple of us are meeting in Shrewsbury on Friday morning to go on to Snowdon in convoy. If anyone fancies joining us we will be meeting at Dobbies Garden World Shrewsbury. (SY3 0DA). This is on the infamous Dobbies island (Loads of traffic lights) that you cant miss. There is also Fuel Burger King Little Chef etc. Best place to park would be opposite Burger King. It is signposted along the Shrewsbury Bypass (A5) as sevices. We could be there at 11.15am. Leaving hopefully about 11.30.
See you there.

Sometimes work gets in the way of life. As of today, it looks like I'm working on Friday. A victim of working in a managerial capacity for an outfit that keeps its manning levels to a minimum.
I'm relying on others on Friday to take the helm before I can bugger off but its likely to be mid afternoon at best before I can escape, but won't know 'till then.
On the plus side, there'll be a convoy of at least two (z00on is cruising too) leaving Leeds/Huddersfield area late afternoon if any late stragglers would like to hook up along the way . . . .

I hope to get away before 10am on Friday morning.
Six hour trip for me. I intend to cut across through Warrington towards Runcorn rather than go round on the motorway box. (well I did work in Warrington for twelve years). About four hours to get that far. Then cut across to Betws y Coed through Mold and Ruthin. I went round the A55 a few years ago in a hired Ford van to collect an industrial sewing machine for June from a place near the campsite. Found this road so boring that I nearly fell asleep at the wheel.
