After the 20 mile test Clogger, open the bonnet and give the coolant tank a thorough check with the engine idling. Any bubbling or gurgling then walk away from it.............................

I would be very intrested in the outcome of this, i'm just about to visit the same dealer, that van is still listed on his website, and he has at least one other (in silver) and maybe another black one.

He's told me he's also getting some more in next week.

Seems like your having abit of hassle with it tbh, but then again its a good price and if he's prepared to put everyhing as it shold be no problem.

give him his dues he gives me a update every couple of days
at the moment it`s having it`s head gasket/waterpump/thermostat/cambelt replaced all this lot he could have been very hush hush about,
as it overheated on the way to the mot
hence i am giving him the chance to sort it and saves me a job as at 50000 miles head gasket/cambelt maybe need to be addressed

still it will be going on a nice long test drive before any dosh gets handed over.

Just been down there, i was looking at the silver one, was more impressed than i thought with the guy and the van.

I asked him if he knew of any common faults and he said that you have to be carefull when you replace the coolant and showed me where you need to take a pipe off the engine to let air out., he said he had another van that was getting work done (head gasket and water pump) cos it over heated. Its got the rear light (near side) from the silver van in it at the moment for the mot, so you might want to make sure its ok when you pickup!.

Overall the guy new his stuff (although he's clearly not a machanic), had the time to show me everything including the engine and roof in aciton, and was not pushy at all.

All the vans are unvalitied and as they come (he does them as he sells them) which i like and always have done, gives you an idea on how the previous owner treated it.

He get's the stock from motorway auctions in southamption. and tries to find two bongo's a week.

Seems like a very straight and honest guy.
