One last thing. The horns sound rather toy town like something off a moped. Is that normal or are they shot? They are rather exposed to the elements mounted where they are.

Can't have Barry sounding like a golf cart. My 8 year old said "after all that, is that it?"

That's likely it for standard.

Easy enough to fit something beefier now you know what you're about.

It's amazing how many idiots pull out in front of me. I want them to know it's a 2.5 tonne vehicle bearing down on them rather than a scooter.

Working horns got tested this very morning. Range Rover pulled out turning right with me coming along at 50mph. Gah!

I wonder if there are any ex Wightlink ferry horns on eBay...

i fitted audi a4 high and low tones, they sounded better.

Will play havoc with the fuel economy though...

Nice and loud, but not aggressively so. Sound "modern" if you know what I mean.

Bolted straight on in the same places in the bumper.

The only silly thing is the mounting bolt isn't connected to ground. You have to connect each horn up via a pair of spade connectors. The existing positive wire just connects on, but the negative terminal had to be connected to the chassis via a wire. It comes with wire and spade connectors to crimp onto the horn negative terminals, but I then needed to crimp on ring connectors to form a connections via the mounting bolts.

Thanks for all the useful information. I have the exact same model (but 2005) and issue, but not sure about the root cause. I'm not completely sure that the horn has worked since I have had the vehicle. Fuse is intact and there seems to be power getting to the horn. Can't hear any relay clicking. Tried to remove the relay but have only been able to remove the relay housing. When I tried to remove the relay lightly with a screwdrive the horn sounded. Could this help with the troubleshooting? I know I should have disconnected the battery first. Any ideas what the issue might be, how I get the relay out and where I can source another one if likely to be the relay?
