So Brian is offering Mike a lift to the pub from the pods of about 10 yards. Has mike lost his zimmer frame ??? Is he really getting forgetful in his old age or is Brian actually offering a lift all the way from Wiggin.

I came across this post today on the Scottish Wild Campers Facebook Page. "Park in the large car park at the top of Wanlockhead village. Short walk to the Wanlockhead Inn, where you can also camp overnight. Postcode for GPS is ML12 6UT" If this is right it would seem that if you do not need a hookup there will be no need to stop at Leettershaw Farm 7 miles away as there is both the Hotel carpark and this carpark available.
See you at the pub in March for round two Brian. Got my winter wheels on the motorhome now and boy did it make a difference on the snow covered and unsalted roads on the way back from the garage.

Myself and John Dixon,(another former bongo owner) are up for this Muzz do we book the pub carpark with yourself or contact the pub. We both have small motorhomes under 6m long so not much more room taken up than a bongo.
Will send you a pm.

No need to book, there appears to be plenty of space. Nearer the time I'll let the pub know rough numbers but nobody needs to book unless you're going onto the Lettershaws campsite of course.

No need for a hook up after surviving Red Squirrel campsite meets loads of times and the occasional wild camps. The only problem is water, is there an outside tap available at or near the pub or do we have to bring our own water with us?

It is claimed that there is a water tap at the side of the pub but on reading the sketchy TripAdvisor reviews of the place I think I would play it safe and buy a 5-litre bottle from your local supermercado before you travel - at least for brews anyway. And food too

Tony, as Muz says,to be safe take some 5 liter bottles from the supermarket, about a quid each
Thats what i do at Allithwaite, the bonus is they double up as excellent pee bottles for night time.A deep bottle and a 2" diameter hole in the top.
Just the right size ...........well, for me anyway
